Missy’s Spa Cloth is a luxurious, pampering facial cloth. The lace stitches create a lovely design with the practical result of a fabric that provides gentle cleansing and exfoliation. Made in the suggested yarn, it can be machine washed and dried.
Skills Needed: Yarn overs, k2tog and ssk decreases.
Size: Width: 8 in [20.3 cm]; Height: 9 ½ in [24.1 cm].
Yarn: 1 skein Cascade Yarns Ultra Pima Fine (Sport/5 ply; 100% Pima Cotton; 136.7 yds/50 grams).
Needles: US size 4 [3.5 mm].
Gauge: 27 sts and 42 rows = 4"[10 cm] in pattern stitch. Gauge is not critically important.
The key to this pattern is using the correct needle size for the yarn - one which allows the lace pattern to be open just enough to show, but not so much that it loses its definition. If substituting yarn, try the largest needle size recommended on the ball band, or even one size larger. You may have to experiment a bit to find the look you like.
