Holly Jolly Table Centrepiece

Holly leaves dance around a bright red vine in this simple-to-stitch holiday table centrepiece.  Instructions are given for curved seaming the background blocks, but the vine could easily be fused in place on top of plain blocks and appliquéd in place.
Finished Size:  28" x 28"
Full sized templates are included.  PLEASE PRINT AT 100%, ACTUAL SIZE to ensure your templates print correctly.  Be sure to check the 1" square block provided.
Materials Required:
.7 m (¾ yard) light background *
.25 m (1/4 yard) red (for curved bands)*
28 assorted greens, totalling .25 m (1/4 yard).  If using scraps, each piece is approximately 3” x 4”*
.5 m (1/2 yard) red for bias binding*
.25 m (1/4 yard) fusible web
.5m (½ yard) tear-away stabilizer
86 cm (34”) square backing
86 cm (34”) square batting
3 small red buttons
Sewing and quilting threads to match *

*Sample shown uses Island Batik fabrics, and Aurifil 12 weight thread for working the blanket stitch around the leaves. If using this thread, you will need a size 100/16 topstitch needle.
