Stretch Table Runner pattern

Choose six coordinating fate quarters to create this elegant table runner.  Try a monochromatic colur scheme or add an accent as you see in the cover photo.  You could even go totally scrappy!

Despite the triangles in the finished piece there are no triangles to cut.  The flying geese and half-square triangle squares are constructed easily using only squares.  The piano key border is strip-pieced for quick and easy assembly.

PLUS!  Instructions to make the backing entirely from the scraps left over from making the top are included!

Materials needed to make this runner:

  • 6 fat quarters* of assorted fabrics
  • 3/8 yard neutral fabric for the background
  • 1/8 yard fabric for innner border
  • 1/4 yard fabric for binding
  • batting

* A fat quarter measures approximately 18" x 20"
