These mittens are part of the Inari Collection, inspired by the shapes and textures of the wilderness in the Inari region in Finnish Lapland. Pielpa is the name of a lake in the area.

It also forms a set with previously published Pielpa Beanie and Pielpa Cowl.

Worked from the cuff up.

Begins with a short ribbed cuff.

Diagonal Cable pattern with bobbles and hidden increases.

To fit hand circumference: 18 (20) cm / 7 (8)”

and hand length from wrist: 17 (19) cm / 6.75 (7.5)”.


Finished measurements

B) Wrist circumference: 16.5 (18) cm / 6.5 (7)”.

C) Hand length from wrist: 18 (20) cm / 7 (8)”.


Yarn


115 (150) m / 125 (164) yds of 8ply / DK weight wool yarn.

Green sample is knit with Oyster yarns Maven DK (60% SW Merino, 20% Silk, 20% Yak, 212m / 232yds - 100g) in colour Bibliotheque.

Turquoise sample is knit with Woolly Yarn Co Woolly 8ply (100% Non-superwash New Zealand wool, 104m / 114yds - 50g) in colour 11 Splash.


Needles


4mm / US6,  a set of DPNs or a long circ needle for magic loop.


Notions


Tapestry needle, cable needle, waste yarn.


Gauge


20 sts x 30 rnds to 10cm / 4” on 4mm / US6 needles in stockinette st in the round, measured from a relaxed fabric after blocking.
