Vespera

As Vespera grew older, she became fascinated by the oldest World-Seedlings. She would sneak away from her lessons and perform alone among their enormous roots, experimenting with movements that had never been taught by Vaelori choreographers. Her dances were strange, Slow turns followed by sudden bursts of movement. Long pauses where she seemed completely motionless. Spiraling gestures that caused vines to curl around her ankles and flowers to open beneath her feet. Eventually, Vespera discovered that her movements could do something no one had taught her. She could feel the Fraying. The decay beyond the Everglow Canopy wasn't simply a distant problem. Through the World-Seedlings, Vespera could sense tiny disturbances in the natural resonance of the world. Places where the rhythm of nature had become uneven. Places where something was slowly beginning to break.
