KHUL’I’ RIGHT OF A WOMAN TO DISSOLVE MARRIAGE UNDER ISLAMIC LAW

Islamic or shari'ah law have provided for the forms of dissolution of marriage contracted under Islamic law. This dissolution can be initiated either by the husband or wife to the marriage. Divorce initiated at the instance of the wife is known as KHUL’I’. Khul’i’ as a form of divorce is granted to the wife of a Muslim marriage when she can no longer cope with her marital situations and circumstances with her husband, putting into consideration as regards all the things that are capable of being settled as dower to the husband. This research project, shall focus on expository appraisal of khul’i’ as a form of dissolution of marriage under Islamic law. This research consists of a title page, approval page, certification, abstract, table of contents, list of abbreviations, list of cases, Chapters One to Five (from introduction to conclusion), and bibliography.
