The brief for this cardigan was warmer, but not too visually dissimilar from a shop bought cardi. But as shop bought knits are mostly cut and seamed, which is not how I like to work, I used this as an exercise in simple techniques for clean edges in stockinette working only with live stitches, There is no sewing or indeed picking up stitches. I also made sure to create edges to the knitting that are tough to resist fraying and wear.

Although created as a school uniform cardigan this can of course also be knitted as a plain cardigan for home use as the beautiful, vibrant, samples by my testers show.

Yarn choices
I used Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino for my red sample. I also used a tiny bit of fingering weight to create a detail on the inside of the cuff. This is optional (pictures can be seen on the project page). Any wool and acrylic blend in sport weight should work well with this one. The purple sample is in the Bendigo mills yarn suggested and the yellow in the Bergere de France yarn.

Construction and techniques
Bottom up, seamless, in the round. Skills include: provisional cast ons, grafting (only for underarms. Full intructions and links to tutorials provided), circular knitting. This is an easy garment.
