Antonio Vivaldi: „Sonate e-Moll“
Die Continuo-Stimme dieser 4-sätzigen Sonate ist für den Kontrabass als eigenständige Gegenstimme bearbeitet worden, wobei der Kontrabass viel in höheren Lagen zu spielen hat. Nur im zweiten Satz, in dem die Cello-Stimme recht tief liegt, ist die Kontrabass-Stimme durchweg nur im Bass-Schlüssel notiert. Dadurch bekommt dieser Satz den humorigen Charakter eines Gnomen-Tanzes.

The continuo part of this 4-movement sonata has been arranged for the double bass as an independent counter part, whereby the double bass has to play a lot in higher registers. Only in the second movement, in which the cello part is quite low, is the double bass part only notated in bass clef throughout. This gives this movement the humorous character of a gnome dance.
