Kaikoura Arcs for string quartet is a fast-moving, acrobatic piece inspired by watching dusky dolphins off the coast of New Zealand cavorting with joyful abandon. The piece is an abstraction of both the energy of the spectacle and the emotions experienced while watching it.
Commissioned by New Music in the Northwest, for the Manchester-based Victoria String Quartet.
