Ballade for violin and piano grew from earlier sketches, and was completed in 2019. It is written in a romantic style, with jazz-infused harmonies. The violin has long cantabile lines in the two outer sections, while the middle section is more fragmentary and imitative between violin and piano. The composer also made a version for violin and orchestra.
