UK Edition: Friendship Skills Sampler: Task Cards for SEND
A free sampler from my friendship task boxes, so you can try the format with your group before buying a full set.
What's included
• The 12 Level A cards from the Texting Friends task box: pupils read a text from a friend and pick how the friend feels or a kind reply, from two choices
• Each card has a self check code
• Answer key
• Data sheet with prompt levels and a 10 session graph
• Teacher page with a short five day plan
How I use it
I read each text aloud twice, once in a friendly voice and once in a flat voice, and ask "How might your friend feel?" Pupils choose, then check the code. By day four they are writing their own kind reply to a pretend text, and I take data.
Every card is about friends, classmates, neighbours or club members. None of them are about work. The full sets cover texting, making plans, disagreeing kindly and saying no.
Good for KS3, KS4 and post 16 social communication groups.
Format: PDF, 6 A4 pages. Free.
