1 Corinthians 16:13-14 — “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with charity.”
The first word we find here in I Corinthians 16:13 is the word “watch.” Paul gave a stern warning to the church in Corinth because there were “many adversaries” lurking behind every corner. May I suggest to you today that there is an adversary that is far greater in power and influence than we could ever imagine. First Peter 5:8 challenges us, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” Satan wants nothing more than to steer you away from God’s will for your life. He is so subtle and deceitful, and he is looking for every opportunity he can to “devour” your future.
