St. John's

St. John’s

St. John’s, in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean, is nestled in a sheltered harbour, protected by steep and craggy cliffs that line our rough and stormy coastline. Every June where I live in St. John’s, lupin covers the hidden grassy nooks and pathways around my neighbourhood. And in the winter, the sun rises through the Narrows, reflecting brilliant colour off of the atmospheric water vapour and ocean surface. The tunic is a seamed raglan construction, knit bottom up and in the round with steeks at the front neck and armholes. The raglan sleeves are picked up from the collar at the shoulders and knitted down to the cuffs, then joined to the upper body by seaming along the raglan lines.

St. John’s is pattern #15 of Landed, Volume 1: The Avalon, Timeless Lace and Stranded Knitting Patterns for the Adventurous Handknitter.
