Perennial Brioche Vest

DIGITAL KNITTING PATTERN available in English and German

A Brioche vest with a V-neck, double-knit edges, and a split hem, knitted top-down with buttons or a tie closure.

The vest is knit top-down in one-color Brioche ribbing with a saddle-shoulder construction. It begins with the double-knit neckband, from which stitches are picked up for the back and shoulders. The double-knit edges are carried through to the front opening, the armholes, and the split hemline. The vest can be knit with two closure styles: buttons or ties.

The vest is designed with a straight, loose fit and a medium length that reaches the high hip. 

If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size, as brioche is very stretchy.

Using Fingering-weight yarn will make the fabric light and airy. I recommend using voluminous plied yarn in wool or a wool blend (such as linen, cotton, or mohair). 

Using Sport-weight yarn will make the fabric denser.

Eine von oben nach unten gestrickte Weste im Patent-Rippenmuster mit V-Ausschnitt, Double-Face-Kanten und geschlitztem Saum, wahlweise mit Knöpfen oder Bändern geschlossen.

Die Weste wird von oben nach unten in einfarbigem Patentmuster mit Sattelschulterkonstruktion gestrickt. Sie beginnt mit dem Double-Face-Halsbündchen, von dem aus Maschen für den Rücken und die Schultern aufgenommen werden. Die Double-Face-Kanten werden an der vorderen Öffnung, den Armausschnitten und am geschlitzten Saum fortgeführt. Die Weste kann mit zwei Verschlussvarianten gestrickt werden: mit Knöpfen oder mit Bändern.

Die Weste hat eine gerade, lockere Passform und eine mittlere Länge, die bis zur oberen Hüfte reicht. 

Da das Patentmuster sehr dehnbar ist, empfehle ich, bei der Wahl zwischen zwei Größen eher die kleinere zu wählen.

Die Verwendung von Fingering-Garn sorgt für ein leichtes, luftiges Strickbild. Ich empfehle voluminöses, gezwirntes Garn aus Wolle oder einer Wollmischung (z. B. Wolle mit Leinen, Baumwolle oder Mohair). 

Die Verwendung von Sport-Garn sorgt für ein dichteres Strickbild.
