The Flying Squirrel Mug Rug is a cute amigurumi cup coaster. It is nearly no-sew, only requiring sewing for the head and tail to the body. Its floppy and unstuffed body makes it suitable to use as a coaster or decor for your office desk. You can also let this little creature perch on your shoulder as a portable pet! This versatile pattern can work as a sugar glider by using different yarn colors. It makes a great emotional support stuffie, birthday gift, baby shower gift, Christmas holiday gift or market/craft fair product. This pattern was designed with faux fur yarn (Feels Like Bliss from Lion Brand Yarns) for a soft and furry stuffed animal. Blanket yarn or chenille velvet yarn can also be used for a plush look. The PDF pattern includes in-line progress photos to help guide you through the doll-making process.

MATERIALS

Furry Bulky weight “5” yarn in white, brown, and pink (I used Feels LIke Bliss from Lion Brand Yarns)

4mm hook for the head/ears/paws

6mm hook for the body/tail

10mm plastic safety eyes

Stuffing

Yarn needle

Scissors

FO = fasten off

MR = magic ring

ch = chain

sl st = slip stitch

sc = single crochet

inc = increase (insert 2 sc in same st)

dec = decrease (sc 2 sts together)

dc = double crochet

dc-inc = double crochet increase (insert 2 dc in same st)

dc-dec = dc decrease (dc 2 sts together)
