Effective Lesson Plan Coaching

Who We Are?

I am an educator of 23 years. I obtained my B.A. Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Louisiana @ Lafayette. I also obtained my Masters Degree in Supervision & Administration from the University of Phoenix. I was always passionate about teaching but in my early years but I lacked mentorship and accountability. I hid behind my basal most days and was never challenged to create. Years later I realized how important it is to allow student data to drive my instruction. Also, learning how to become familiar with content standards and learning ways to align my instruction with those standards was essential. It's really that simple. When I understood what to do I was able to make mental connections and create the lessons and plans that I visualized. Planning was the key and I am here to help your on the path to creating plans that will yield powerful results.

Mentorship

Mentorship is absolutely vital for new teachers — here’s why it matters so much:

Nearly 40% of new teachers leave within five years, but with a mentor, retention significantly improves. One U.S. study found 92% of mentored teachers returned for a second year (vs. 84%), and 86% stayed for five years (vs. 71%) without mentoring.

In Australia, mentorship halved early-career attrition . Teachers in high-quality mentorship programs report significant improvements in planning, classroom management, and instructional strategies.

A study following over 600 new teachers showed mentorship led to 2–4 extra months in reading and 2–5 extra months in math learning gains among their students. Mentors offer vital emotional reinforcement, helping newbies navigate stress and build confidence.

Regular feedback, reflective conversations, and safe collaboration help new teachers develop a professional identity and become self-directed learners. Mentorship isn’t just “nice to have”—it’s essential. It transforms new teachers from feeling overwhelmed into skilled, reflective educators, making a powerful difference for students and the whole school community.
