This is a very easy blanket to knit even though it is quite a complex and impressive design. The background colour at the top is different from the background at the bottom and the rabbit stands out against them both.
Only one yarn is used on each row and there are only two different colours. If you can knit, purl and count, you can do this. When you look straight at the knitting you only see narrow stripes. The rabbit appears when you look from an angle.
The final two photos show what you see when you look straight at the front and back of the blanket.
It can be made in any yarn. If using DK it uses approximately 600 metres (660 yards) light and 500 metres (550 yards) dark. It measures about 80 cm x 100 cm (32” x 40”)
We have created a new method of charting illusion designs so you do not need to know any special knitting symbols. The pattern includes various versions of the chart, including one specially for mobile devices.
