The posters will include the following steps of the writing process:
pre-writing
writing
responding
revising
editing
publishing
how to write in your notebook
what writers add to their writing
By learning the names of the writing process and what each entails the student will become more aware when writing and in return become better writers. All posters are full page size. Included is a poster of what I personally expect in my young writers which is their posture, writing in pencil, dating their entries and leaving 3 fingers worth of space on the right side of the page. Also, you will find a poster giving clues to the students about what writers add to make their writing more vivid, interesting, and attention grabbing.
Short activity included in which students will write about topics they like to write about.
If you use these posters for your bulletin board then I invite you to place a cup under the bulletin board (if possible) and make a "randomize your writing stick" which I have included as well in order to give the kiddos ideas for those days in which they don't know what to write about. It creates a more enthusiastic and surprising approach to their writing practice.
For the BOOM cards included:
The kiddos will learn the names of the writing process, what each process entails, and what is expected of them in each step. The cards will end with a quiz for students to read examples of the writing process and demonstrate they know what step of the writing process that is. This will help your students be more aware of their writing steps and help them become better writers.
