Catching Light

“Catching Light” is a slow and melodic ballad for concert band and solo piano. The piece was written in honor of Nathan Jatcko, a gifted jazz and classical pianist based in Saint Louis, Missouri who tragically passed away in January of 2018. This piece features opportunities to showcase a gifted piano soloist, while the ensemble compliments with beautiful melodies, lush harmonies, and soaring counter melodies.
