AF: A Love Letter, A Battle Cry — The Album Australia Needs Right Now

An open letter from Senator Papahatziharalambrous — the bloke who won’t shut up until we put Australia First in our hearts and minds.

G’day punters. If you know me, you know I don’t sugarcoat. If you don’t, pull up a chair — this is the record I had to write. I’ve been walking down empty roads for a long time and I finally put the walk into a songbook. This album is prayer, memory, rage and a promise all mashed into one: Lord, heal our land. Make us whole again. Put Australia First.

That’s not marketing. That’s a plea. A demand. A desperate, loving plea for a country that once knew how to stand together.

Why this album? Why now?

Because the country that raised me is fraying at the edges. Because punters are sleepwalking with screens in their hands and empty slogans in their mouths. Because kids are losing neighbourhoods, milk bars, honest work and the chance to learn what a sacrament smells like. Because we were told to stay quiet while they changed the world around us — and I’m done being quiet.

So I wrote 35 songs. Some are full-tilt anger: “Your Conspiracy Theorist Friend Was Right (And You Owe Them A Fucking Apology)” — sung like a verdict for the gaslit. Some are weird and tender: “I Love Her (AI)” — a love song for the lonely modern age. Some are nostalgic and soft-hearted: “Support Your Local Milk Bar.” And the title track? AF (Australia First) is a prayer-anthem that shouts, “Lord — heal our land.” That chorus sits under my skin, and it’ll sit under yours too if you give it the ear.

The record in one breath

  • Faith & Fire — songs that call us back to Christ and call the corrupt to account.
  • Nostalgia & Neighbourhood — songs that remember milk bars, footy, mates and real community.
  • Tech & Trouble — songs that warn about the cold promises of AI and digital gods.
  • Rage & Mercy — anthems that spit fury at liars and offer grace to the broken.

A few tracks you’ll yell at and then pray with

  • AF (Australia First) — the opener and the prayer: “Lord, heal our land / Put Australia First in our hearts and minds.” It’s a hymn and a rallying cry rolled into one.
  • NPC’s Walking — a merciless slap at complacency: the folk who live on autoplay, regurgitating other people’s opinions. Wake up.
  • Your Conspiracy Theorist Friend Was Right… — vulgar, direct, incandescent: a reckoning for anyone who was silenced for asking the hard questions.
  • Digital Gods / I Love Her (AI) — two sides of the same coin: idolisation of machines versus the ache for real connection.
  • Support Your Local Milk Bar / Punters Club — small-shop nostalgia and pub confessions, because Australia’s soul lives in those corners.
  • Spread the Word / Carry You Through — gospel-toned closers that are not sentimental fluff; they’re the hand that steadies you when you’ve had enough.

This isn’t a record for attention seekers — it’s for people with a backbone

If you’re after a nice playlist to nod along to in your Audi, this ain’t it. If you want to be nudged into thinking, praying, laughing, and maybe dropping the device for ten minutes — this is for you. It’s for the tradie who hums a chorus on his smoko break, the pub-regular who wants honesty, the mum who can’t find the church on Sundays anymore, the kid who needs to hear someone tell the truth.

How to support the little guy (the smart way)

I’m not stuffing pop-ups with links here. On release day I’ll drop streaming links in the comments of this article and pin ’em there — algorithms hate links in the main post, so do it like I do: put them in the first comment and pin it. If you want the album directly (and to keep the money with a bloke who makes this stuff, not with middlemen), the whole record and extras live at payhip.com/TakinThepiss for two bucks. The lyric book is cheap as chips — a buck — because truth shouldn’t cost more than a sausage roll.

A launch plan for my people (do this with me)

  1. Listen loud on Friday, October 3, 2025. Hit it in the car, the ute, the kitchen — anywhere you can’t lie to yourself.
  2. Share something honest — not “hey stream this,” but a two-line take: how a lyric hit you. Pin the streaming comment and tell your mates.
  3. Buy the lyrics for a buck on Payhip. Keep the words. Argue them. Pray with them. Underline a line and pass it to a mate.
  4. Tell one person who wouldn’t normally listen to this kind of stuff. If one person wakes up, we’ve started something.

One last thing — a prayer and a dare

If you blink, you’ll miss the slow return. If you open your heart, you might catch a spark. I’ve poured my blood, my jokes, my prayers and my scars into this. If you listen once, let it land. If it chaps you, say so. If it helps you, tell someone.

This is my shot. Your country’s future isn’t someone else’s business — it’s ours. Put this on when the kettle’s on. Put this on when you’re driving home after a long day. Put this on when you need to remember how to stand.

See you Friday, October 3, 2025.

Bring your mates. Bring your doubts. Bring your kids. Bring your heart.

Let’s make Friday unforgettable. Let’s put Australia First. God willing.
