Jean Baptiste Bréval: „Sonate Nr. 5 G-Dur“

Jeder Cellist wird sie kennen: die „schwere“ Sonate für Violoncello und Basso Continuo, hier in einer Bearbeitung für Violoncello und Kontrabass. Die vom Kontrabass zu spielende Continuo-Stimme wurde so überarbeitet, dass aus ihr nicht nur eine begleitende Stimme, sondern auch eine gleichwertige Gegenstimme wurde. Im Rondo übernimmt sie sogar teilweise die Cello-Stimme und das Cello wechselt zur Begleitung, so dass an den Kontrabassisten ebenfalls hohe Ansprüche gestellt werden. Ein Duo zum Brillieren!

Every cellist will know it: the "difficult" sonata for violoncello and basso continuo, here in an arrangement for violoncello and double bass. The continuo part to be played by the double bass has been reworked so that it is not only an accompanying part, but also an equal counterpart. In the rondo, it even takes over the cello part in parts and the cello switches to accompaniment, so that high demands are also placed on the double bass player. A brilliant duo!
