Subliminal messaging is the broadcasting of messages that are below the threshold of normal perception + conscious awareness.

The subliminal audios below consist of monotone positive statements + affirmations repeated over + over again while music plays. Subliminal audios work on the premise that the affirmations in each recording are playing at such a low volume that you cannot hear them consciously.

The messages – or in this case 'positive affirmations' – are installed into the unconscious while you sleep or do other activities. For example, driving, exercising, cleaning, walking the dog, etc. Listening to a subliminal audio is a passive way of programming the mind.

Other mental re-programming methods (such as Emotional Freedom Technique, Theta Healing, spoken affirmations or mirror work) require a certain amount of conscious effort and habit formation. Subliminal Affirmations can be visual or audio.

Subliminal messaging is the broadcasting of messages that are below the threshold of normal perception + conscious awareness. If you strain your ears you may be able to catch fragments of the affirmations, though they are barely audible underneath other sounds. This is because they are below the absolute threshold level (ATL).

You can’t perceive a subliminal message so your conscious mind can’t reason with it or reject them. The affirmations go into your subconscious mind + complement any belief work you are doing.

Research

There is scientific debate about the effectiveness of subliminal messaging, but it is used to improve sports performance.

A recent experiment found that a team of athletes who were flashed positive subliminal images improved their performance more than a group who were flashed negative or neutral images.

Despite the lack of scientific consensus, subliminal advertising is currently banned in New Zealand, the UK, the US, Canada, and a large number of other countries. In Australia, it was banned in 1958, but is now permitted within adverts due to a loophole where advertisers ‘self-regulate’ their practices.
