Claude Code in Production

A 109-minute video course on running Claude Code as a working system: layered CLAUDE.md, hooks, file-based memory, subagents, detached jobs that resume, and Approve/Deny cards before anything leaves your machine.

Claude Code in Production

What you get

  • 18 video lessons in 7 modules plus a welcome, 109 minutes in total (lessons run 4 to 7 minutes)
  • The starter repo (zip): plain Python 3.9+ with no third-party packages, and 42 pytest cases
  • A 30-page PDF of field notes that follows the course: a one-page glossary up front and the checklist from the last lesson at the end

About the course

Claude Code is easy to start with. Running it every day on real work raises a different set of problems: sessions that forget what you told them yesterday, a long job that dies halfway through, a tool call that writes into a folder it should never touch, a post that goes out before anyone read it. This course covers the setup we use to handle those, one piece at a time, with the code for each piece in a starter repo you can copy.

Each lesson is narrated slides plus terminal walkthroughs recorded from real runs of the starter repo in a demo project. When a technical term comes up for the first time, a card on screen explains it in plain English.

The modules

  1. Setup that survives. Splitting CLAUDE.md into user and project files; settings.json permissions, deny rules and environment.
  2. Hooks. How hooks run; a SessionStart loader that puts your notes in context; a PreCompact dump that saves the transcript tail with secrets masked; a guard hook that denies writes into folders you list, and the prefix bug it had.
  3. Memory. One fact per file with a small index; consolidation and a hygiene check you can run before each commit.
  4. Subagents. A roster, routing work to cheaper models where that is enough, and a cold review run live.
  5. Detached jobs. Why long sessions die; a runner with a progress file, fresh-session resume and completion markers; ways to start jobs while you're away.
  6. Human in the loop. Approve/Deny cards (optionally as Telegram buttons) and a check in the publishing code that refuses any payload that changed after approval.
  7. Failures. The failure stories behind each guard, then a production checklist in the order to set it up.

Before you buy

  • You need Claude Code and Python 3.9 or newer. The tests need pytest (pip install pytest). The Telegram buttons are optional and need a bot you create yourself.
  • The starter repo was tested on Windows 11 (Python 3.14) and on Linux (Python 3.12). macOS was not tested.
  • You'll copy files, edit JSON and Markdown, and run commands in a terminal. The course assumes you have used Claude Code before.

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't teach Claude Code from zero. Installation and first prompts aren't covered.
  • It's set up for one person. Team rollouts, writing MCP servers and cloud runners are out of scope; jobs run on your own machine.
  • It isn't a hosted service. Nothing runs on our servers, and the starter repo sends nothing anywhere unless you set up the optional Telegram cards.
  • The guard hook and the approval check are code you run and maintain. The path guard is a seatbelt. If you're protecting something that would hurt to lose, pair it with operating-system permissions and a proper security review.
  • Secret masking in the transcript dumps catches common key and token shapes. It's best effort.
  • No live sessions, coaching or support for your own codebase.

How it was made

Written with AI help (Claude) and reviewed by AmagiLabs before release. Narrated by Ricardo, using an AI voice model of his own voice. AmagiLabs isn't affiliated with Anthropic. Claude and Claude Code are Anthropic's names, used here only to say what the course works with.
