The song Oriental Shuffle was written by Stéphane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt and was first released by Quintet of The Hot Club of France in 1936. This is not one of the most covered compositions in the gypsy jazz world, however it is a beautiful work. The chords for fourths that Django used were very interesting, well ahead of their time, which gave it a more modal touch by not defining all the harmony, something that is widely used in contemporary jazz.
