This colourful finch can often be seen on garden feeders eating sunflower seeds, sometimes alongside goldfinches. They are also a familiar bird in woodland. You may find it by listening for its unmistakable wheezing call.

  • Size on 16/32 count fabric: 2.2 x 2 inches (5.4 x 5cm)
  • Threads: DMC
  • Technique: whole cross stitch and backstitch detail around eye
