Aliens & Interlopers

"I don’t know how to write what I don’t know, so I wrote this. I can’t describe it as being a compendium of love stories; not really.
I'm not sure what I could call this collection of recollections, though.
Are hate stories a thing yet, or are they still just called memories?
I can write fairy tales because I know what lies taste like; I tasted them underneath fairy lights and on top of mauve coloured sheers. They taste like a cortisol head-rush and foreign toothpaste.
I know what love tastes like now – like sweat and honey – but all I think I knew the taste of during these events was the act of becoming small-town scenery – reliable but dull, and inescapable.
This is a book of fairy tales; all of which with an untold happy ending.
They’re fake, they’re real, they’re everything you see in them; they’re about whom you want them to be and they’re not about who you don’t.
They’re not about you; they’re about the holes in my memories and what I’d like to fill them in with."
