Three little pigs set off to build homes of their own. The first builds with straw and takes a nap. The second builds with sticks. The third works for days, laying every brick with care. Then a hungry wolf comes knocking: "Little pig, little pig, let me come in!"

The wolf huffs and puffs, but he isn't finished. He tries trick after trick: a turnip field at six o'clock, an apple tree at five, a fair on the hill. Each time, the clever third pig is one step ahead, right up to the big pot by the fire.
