Explore Ancient Egypt with the book Pyramid by David Macaulay. This is a four-week unit study based on this detailed book with beautiful illustrations. It includes activities for language arts, history/social studies/geography, STEM, and fine arts/handicrafts. It also includes notebooking pages that will allow students to create their own notebook of activities as you work through the study.

➡️ You'll find a weekly schedule that details which activities to complete each day, as well as a booklist and materials list inside the literature unit. And every activity has detailed instructions. This makes teaching the unit study simple and low-stress.

As they complete this unit study, students will take a deep dive into the history of Ancient Egypt that includes reading, hands-on activities, and notebooking pages. You will love the flexibility and ease of using this unit study in your homeschool.

Inside the unit study you'll find…
  • Subject area activities for language arts, history, STEM, and fine arts
  • Vocabulary words
  • Discussion questions
  • Booklist
  • Materials list
  • Suggested weekly schedule
  • Notebooking pages for subject area activities

This study was created for grades 2-6. But you can certainly adapt that for older or younger kids in your family. Read the books aloud as a family and complete the activities together, or assign the reading to your children and have them complete the activities independently. You can use this literature-based study as your primary curriculum covering language arts, history, STEM, and fine arts. Or you can choose to supplement your regular curriculum with a fun hands-on unit study.

This literature-based unit study will help you and your students to get excited about learning. It goes beyond just reading about Ancient Egypt and uses the book Pyramid by David Macaulay as a jumping off point to explore other subjects with hands-on learning and notebooking pages.

This literature unit is easy for you to use. Print the schedule, booklist, materials list, and activity descriptions for yourself. I like to keep these in a three-ring folder. Print as many notebooking pages as you need for each child in your family. Kids can keep their pages in a binder as they complete the activities throughout this unit study. And, by the end, they will have created a notebook demonstrating what they've learned. When you use all of my literature unit studies throughout your school year, your kids can build a binder that will contain all of their notebooking studies at the end of the year!
