GRACE AND MERCY – Grace Was Not In Vain by Bro H
Verse 1 Noah found grace in the eyes of Yahweh, A just man walking while the old world fell. Joseph found favor inside of the prison; The LORD was with him, and the keeper could tell. Grace did not wait for a throne or a victory, It worked in the darkness where no one could see. Not human deserving, not religious labor— The sovereign hand of God accomplishing His will. Chorus By the grace of God I am what I am, His divine influence working within. Not permission to wander, Not a covering for sin— Grace is the power of God changing a man. And His grace bestowed upon me Was not in vain. I will stand, I will labor, I will faithfully remain. By the grace of God I am what I am, And His grace toward me was not in vain. Verse 2 Grace came first, before understanding, Before I could name what was stirring inside. The natural mind could not open the Scripture; God lifted the veil and opened my eyes. Scales fell away from inherited teaching; The scattered sheep heard the Shepherd again. A remnant was called by the election of grace— Not merely to know, but be transformed within. Verse 3 “For the grace of God that brings salvation Has appeared to all men, teaching us To deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, And live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age.” Grace is a teacher, not an excuse; It does not free us to continue in sin. “If you love Me, keep My commandments”— The law once on stone is now written within. Verse 4 “My grace is sufficient for you, For My strength is made perfect in weakness.” The power of Christ rests upon the afflicted; His strength is revealed where the flesh has reached its end. Grace does not promise a road without suffering; It carries His people faithfully through. He perfects, establishes, strengthens, and settles Those who stand in the grace that is true. Verse 5 The gifts we have received are not ours to bury; We are stewards of manifold grace. Some teach, some serve, some stand as watchmen, Each working faithfully in his appointed place. “Grow in grace and in the knowledge Of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” Until the King establishes His Kingdom, May His influence bar fruit in our lives. Bridge Grace is not weakness. Grace is not feeling. Grace is not lawlessness Dressed in belief. Grace is the sovereign Working of Yahweh— Supplying what human strength Could never achieve. Final Chorus By the grace of God I am what I am, His divine influence working within. Not permission to wander, Not a covering for sin— Grace is the power of God changing a man. And His grace bestowed upon me Was not in vain. I will stand, I will labor, I will faithfully remain. By the grace of God I am what I am— May His divine influence Never be in vain.
