DECEIVED – Dry Wind in the High Places by Bro H
“Take heed that no man deceive you.” [Verse 1] Before He spoke of wars and famines, Before the signs that men would see, Jesus gave His first warning: “Take heed that no man deceive you.” “For many will come in My name,” Confessing Jesus is the Christ; The deepest danger does not deny Him— It uses His name to spread the lie. The deep deceiver enters as a friend; He may believe the words he teaches. Sincerity does not make them true— “Deceiving and being deceived.” [Verse 2] Jeremiah saw the high places, “A dry wind from the high places Comes toward the daughter of My people— Not to fan and not to cleanse.” It cannot separate wheat from tares, Or show the clean from the unclean; It promises peace while the sword approaches And leaves the people unable to see. “They are wells without water, Clouds driven by a storm.” The sermon moves, the music rises, But no repentance has been born. [Chorus] Dry wind in the high places, Not to fan and not to cleanse; It cannot show the holy from profane Or name the enemy within. “Take heed that no man deceive you”— The warning came before the signs; The dry wind fills the church with motion While the people remain blind. [Verse 3] “For such men are false apostles, Deceitful workers,” Paul declared, “Disguising themselves as Christ’s apostles,” Appearing righteous and prepared. The adversary is not a horned spirit, Nor a fallen angel from the sky; It is a man opposing God’s truth While dressed as a messenger of light. He wears a suit and carries a Bible; He has credentials and the proper tone. He says that God’s law was abolished, Placing his judgment above God’s own. Christ said, “Do not think that I came To abolish the Law or the Prophets.” The preacher teaches the opposite, And the people love to have it so. [Verse 4] “Esau is Edom”—Scripture names him; “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” The man of sin is a lawless order, A hidden power to be revealed. But most men standing in the pulpits Are Jacob, unaware of who they are; They entered seminaries as Israelites And left believing they were Gentiles. Esau himself need not preach in every building; He shapes the books that train the man. Scofield’s notes stand beside the Scripture, And Jacob repeats the deceptive plan. He preaches grace without obedience, A Kingdom with no governing law; He does the work of the deceiver While believing he is serving God. [Verse 5] Judas walked beside the Master, Heard the Word and held the money. “It was you, my equal and companion; We walked in God’s house side by side.” The son of destruction sat at the table, Using fellowship to remain disguised. The Pope sets his decree above Scripture; Christian Zionists raise the Israeli flag; Newsrooms choose what will be repeated; Officials dress their orders up as law. White coats present the approved solution; Television teaches whom to fear. [Verse 6] Signs and wonders do not prove the prophet; Christ warned that lying signs would come. A preacher tells a hidden secret, And divination is called a gift from God. “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy? And in Your name perform many miracles?” Then Jesus answers, “I never knew you; Depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.” The test was never power or excitement; The test is fruit that will remain. “Beloved, do not believe every spirit; Test the spirits to see if they are from God.” [Breakdown] “Woe to the shepherds Who are destroying and scattering The sheep of My pasture,” Declares the Lord. You fed yourselves and starved the flock. You cried, “Peace,” when none was given. You did not turn men from their evil; The dry wind left them unprepared. [Bridge] God made Jeremiah a defense city, An iron pillar, walls of bronze— Against the kings, against the princes, Against the priests throughout the land. The people gather where the Word is opened, Where sin is named and truth is read. [Final Chorus] Dry wind in the high places, Not to fan and not to cleanse; Your fruit is seen throughout the nation— A scattered people ruled by sin. “Let no man deceive you by any means”— The man of lawlessness shall be revealed; Sound the trumpet from the defense city, And take the two-edged sword and wield. [Outro] “Take heed that no man deceive you.”
