Lament for Antoniou for solo flute was written in honor of the great composer and musician Theodore Antoniou. Theodore was a professor at Boston University when I was a student there and his personality, spirit and music was a big inspiration to me. The work is conceived as any elegy. The opening represents loss and grief but as the piece progresses the music gives hope of the reassurance of the spirit as it makes its journey reconnecting with eternity.
