A structured five-session program designed to help your puppy build good habits, learn foundational obedience, and develop the skills needed to thrive at home and in everyday life.
The habits your puppy develops early can shape how they behave for years to come.
Madden’s K9 Puppy Training is a structured five-session program designed to help you build a strong foundation from the beginning.
Rather than simply teaching a few commands, we'll work on the everyday skills that help puppies become easier to communicate with, manage, and live with.
We'll build your puppy's foundation around their age, development, behavior, environment, and your goals as an owner.
Teach your puppy how to learn. We'll establish engagement, name recognition, markers, rewards, and foundational behaviors.
Build better habits inside the home with crate training, potty routines, jumping, chewing, boundaries, and calm behavior.
Introduce leash foundations while helping your puppy develop patience, focus, and the ability to make better choices.
Work on appropriate exposure to people, environments, sounds, movement, and everyday distractions while keeping your puppy's development in mind.
Bring the foundational skills together, identify areas that need additional work, and create a practical plan for continuing your puppy's training.
This program is designed for puppy owners who want to establish good habits early rather than waiting for unwanted behaviors to become deeply practiced.
It's especially useful for owners who want help with:
Puppy training isn't about expecting a young dog to behave like an adult.
It's about teaching appropriate behaviors, creating structure, establishing communication, and giving your puppy repeated opportunities to make good choices.
The earlier you build those foundations, the more you have to work with as your puppy grows.
Train early. Build good habits. Grow together.
Puppies are constantly learning from their environment.
That means training isn't limited to a few minutes of practicing commands. It's also about the routines you create, the behaviors you reinforce, the boundaries you establish, and the way you communicate with your puppy every day.
Our goal is to help you build those foundations intentionally so your puppy has a clear path to becoming a confident, well-mannered companion.
What age puppy is this program for?
The program is designed for puppies and young dogs who are still developing their foundational behaviors. Training will be adjusted based on your puppy's age, development, experience, and individual needs.
What will my puppy learn?
We'll work on foundational obedience, communication, house manners, crate training, impulse control, leash skills, early recall, appropriate socialization, and other age-appropriate behaviors.
Does this guarantee my puppy will be fully trained?
No. Every puppy develops differently, and training results depend heavily on consistency, reinforcement, environment, genetics, development, and owner participation. The program is designed to establish strong foundations and teach you how to continue building on them.
Do I need to schedule all five sessions at once?
No. You'll schedule your first session after completing your intake. Your remaining sessions will be scheduled progressively based on your puppy's development and training needs.
What happens between training sessions?
You'll receive practical exercises to work on between appointments. Consistent practice at home is an important part of puppy development.
Can you help with potty training?
Yes. Potty-training routines, management, scheduling, supervision, and appropriate reinforcement can be addressed as part of the program.
Can you help with crate training?
Yes. We can work on creating a positive crate routine and helping your puppy develop comfort and appropriate behavior around the crate.
Can you help with puppy biting and chewing?
Yes. We'll address appropriate management, redirection, reinforcement, boundaries, and routines that can help you work through common puppy behaviors.
Is socialization just letting my puppy meet other dogs?
No. Socialization is broader than dog-to-dog interaction. We can work on appropriate exposure to people, environments, sounds, surfaces, movement, handling, and everyday experiences while considering your puppy's developmental stage.
Do I need a K9 Assessment first?
No. The Puppy Training Intake is designed specifically to gather the information needed to begin the program. If your puppy has significant behavior or safety concerns outside the scope of standard puppy training, we'll discuss the appropriate next step.
Can I purchase additional training after the program?
Yes. As your puppy grows, their training needs will change. Additional private sessions or an appropriate obedience program may be recommended based on your dog's development.
