About Me

My name is Madden, but most people who know me know me as Madd Dog. It was my nickname during my time in the United States Marine Corps, and today it has taken on a whole new meaning through something I’ve been passionate about for more than 15 years: dogs and dog training.

I've spent over 15 years training, working with, and learning from dogs. Over that time, I've developed a deep appreciation for how different every dog can be. There isn't one approach that works perfectly for every dog, and good training starts with understanding the individual dog in front of you.

That belief is at the heart of Madden’s K9 Services.

Why I Train Dogs

My passion for dog training goes far beyond teaching commands.

I believe dogs deserve the opportunity to understand what their owners are asking of them, and owners deserve to have the knowledge and confidence to communicate with their dogs effectively.

When training works, everyday life can become easier.

Walks become more manageable.

Household routines become calmer.

Communication becomes clearer.

Dogs have more structure and direction.

And owners can enjoy their dogs more.

That's what means the most to me: helping dogs live easier, more balanced lives with the families who love them.

Training Dogs. Teaching Owners. Building Better Teams.

One of the biggest things I've learned over the years is that I'm not just training the dog.

I'm training the team.

A dog can learn a command, but lasting progress comes from the relationship between the dog and the person handling them. That's why I focus on teaching owners what to do, why we're doing it, how to practice it, and how to continue building on it after the training session ends.

My goal is for you to leave training with more than a better-behaved dog.

I want you to understand your dog better.

My Approach

Every dog has a different personality, history, environment, and learning style.

My approach is built around:

  • Clear communication
  • Consistency
  • Structure
  • Positive reinforcement
  • Appropriate boundaries
  • Impulse control
  • Practical obedience
  • Progressive training
  • Owner education
  • Real-world application

Training shouldn't only work in a quiet training environment. The goal is to help you build skills that can eventually transfer into the situations you and your dog experience every day.

Why Madden’s K9 Services?

Because I believe dog training should make life better for both ends of the leash.

Whether you're bringing home a new puppy, working through basic obedience, struggling with leash behavior, trying to build a more reliable recall, or simply looking for guidance with your dog's everyday behavior, my goal is to give you a practical path forward.

I'm proud to bring together my years of experience with dogs, my discipline and work ethic shaped by the Marine Corps, and my genuine passion for helping dogs and their owners succeed.

I'm Madden.

Also known as Madd Dog.

And I'm here to help you build a better relationship with your K9.
