A structured six-session private training program designed to build reliable obedience, strengthen communication, and develop skills that hold up in real-world situations.
Your dog doesn't become reliable because they learned a command once.
Real obedience comes from repetition, clear communication, consistency, impulse control, and gradually increasing distractions.
Madden’s K9 6-Session Obedience Training is a structured one-on-one training program designed to take your dog beyond basic commands and help build practical obedience that transfers into everyday life.
Across six 60-minute private sessions, we'll work through a progressive training plan based on your dog's current abilities, challenges, environment, and your goals as an owner.
Establish clear communication between you and your dog while building engagement, markers, rewards, and foundational obedience.
Develop duration, consistency, patience, and the ability to respond instead of immediately reacting.
Build better leash behavior, handler engagement, and responsiveness while moving through different environments.
Begin increasing distractions and expectations while reinforcing the behaviors your dog has already learned.
Take the skills outside the controlled training environment and work toward better reliability around everyday distractions.
Bring everything together, identify remaining weaknesses, reinforce your strongest skills, and establish a practical plan for continued training after the program ends.
This program is a good fit for owners who want more than a single training session and are willing to actively participate in their dog's development.
It may be especially useful for dogs that need additional repetition, have several obedience goals, struggle with distractions, or need more time to build consistency.
The goal isn't simply for your dog to perform a behavior in a quiet room.
The goal is to help you understand how to communicate with your dog, practice effectively, recognize progress, and gradually build reliability in the environments where you actually live your life.
You are not just purchasing six appointments.
You're building a training process you can continue using with your dog.
Six sessions give us the opportunity to slow down, build behaviors properly, add distractions progressively, and spend more time addressing the areas where your dog needs the most work.
More training time means more opportunities to practice, troubleshoot, adjust, and build consistency.
The goal is not perfection in one appointment. The goal is measurable progress that you and your dog can continue building together.
How do I schedule my sessions?
After purchasing, you'll complete your training intake and then be directed to Calendly to schedule your first 60-minute training session. Your remaining sessions will be scheduled progressively based on your dog's progress and training needs.
Do I schedule all six sessions at once?
No. You'll schedule Session 1 first. Subsequent sessions will be scheduled progressively so we can adjust the training plan based on your dog's development.
What can we work on?
The program can address foundational obedience, leash skills, recall, place, impulse control, household manners, engagement, distractions, and other appropriate training goals.
What if my dog already knows basic commands?
That's completely fine. The program isn't about repeating commands your dog already knows. We'll evaluate where your dog is currently and work toward greater consistency, duration, responsiveness, and reliability.
Will my dog be completely trained after six sessions?
Training isn't a guaranteed transformation, and every dog progresses differently. Results depend on factors including the dog's behavior, history, environment, consistency, and the owner's participation between sessions. The purpose of the program is to establish and strengthen practical skills while teaching you how to continue developing them.
Do I need a K9 Assessment first?
Not necessarily. The 6-Session Obedience Training program includes an intake process that helps identify your dog's current training level and goals. If your dog's situation appears to require a more detailed assessment or falls outside the scope of standard obedience training, we'll discuss the appropriate next step.
What happens between sessions?
You'll be given practical training exercises to practice between appointments. Consistent owner participation is an important part of the program because dogs learn through repetition and reinforcement.
Can I purchase another package after completing the six sessions?
Yes. If you and your dog would benefit from additional training, you can purchase another package or discuss the next appropriate training option.
Can you work with aggressive or dangerous dogs?
Please disclose any history of biting, attempted biting, serious aggression, or other safety concerns during intake. Certain cases may require specialized behavior support or a qualified veterinary behavior professional rather than standard obedience training.
