Glimmer Glossary
A sweet and simple tool to record your 'Glimmers'✨🤩
✨Glimmers are 'tiny micro-moments of joy' that allow us to happy, hopeful and safe.
✨They bring a sense of connection and regulation to the body, cue-ing the nervous system to move into the parasympathetic state which allows us to feel calm and open.
✨Glimmers are experiences of pleasure that naturally occur as we are present to the spontaneity of life. Hint: It's up to us to take notice.🤗😄
✨A glimmer moment may be felt as you watch the sun rise or set, as you notice a wildflower gently swaying in the breeze ~ as you catch the soft glow of a full moon, or in listening to the summer rain.
Use this Glimmer Glossary ✨as a special way to track the subtle cues - internal and external that evoke in you, feelings of joy, safety, and connection.
- Glimmers were coined by Deb Dana in 2018 in her book The Polyvagal Theory in Therapy, arising from her work with Behavioral Scientist Stephen Porges.
