Whole Lotta Snow is a top down pattern written in mind to teach Fair Isle/stranded knitting and basic sock construction while knitting a Christmas stocking.
Techniques used are Latvian Braid, colorwork (fair isle/stranded), a heel flap with gusset, a rounded toe, and duplicate stitch for the name.
I used a washable wool, Berroco Ultra Wool, in two colors for the sample. But any worsted weight would work well for this pattern. I had enough left over of each color to make a couple of dense pompoms.
The pattern calls for two sizes of needles because many people have a tighter gauge for colorwork. If this is you, go up to the size 8 for the colorwork section.
This is NOT a finished object, but the pattern to make your own!
