A guide I wish I had when I first started skiing in the Italian Alps

Planning a ski trip to the Italian Alps and not sure where to even start? Val Gardena or Alta Badia? Dolomiti Superski or Livigno? This is a 149-page practical guide based on my real personal experience - not sponsored blog posts, recycled travel content, or generic recommendations. Plan your trip with more clarity, more ease, and much better decisions.

What's inside

  • Region-by-region breakdowns - what each area feels like, who it suits, and when to go
  • The Dolomiti Superski pass explained properly, finally
  • A full trip planning section with exemplary iteneraries: costs, logistics, transfers, where to stay
  • Beginner-friendly picks - resorts where learning doesn't feel like an obstacle course
  • How to save money - or maximise the value where you can't optimise the price
  • Rifugio culture, food, and the things that make skiing here different from anywhere else
  • Hotel & restaurant tips, all personally inspected
  • Basic alpine etiquette - how to be a guest everyone loves and respects
  • What not to miss, and what is overhyped
  • Views with exact descriptions where to get them

"More helpful than random blog posts - saves hours of research." — Helen S.

"She certainly knows the area. Highly recommended." — Alex K.

Why this isn't like other guides

  • Most ski content online is either five years out of date, written by someone who visited once on a press trip, or, increasingly, assembled by an AI. This guide is not a 25-pages "hey Chat, give me a guide on Dolomites skiing, make no mistake".
  • This guide is none of those things. It's 149 pages of first-hand knowledge, written by a human who lives close to these mountains, spent over €50k on testing the resorts and the hotels, returns to them every season, and has strong feelings about which resorts are overhyped and which ones are brilliant.
  • No sugarcoating, sponsored opinions or filler.
  • If a resort has a weakness, it's in here. If a region is overrun with crowds in February, you'll know before you book.

Happy planning - the mountains are waiting 🏔️

This guide is very helpful for organising my next years trip to Dolomites and how to make it budget friendly. She certainly knows the area. Highly recommended!

— Alex K., TUM Student

Excellent break down of everything you need to know before going for a ski trip to Italy. In our family not everyone is a skier, so nice to see that this guide covers non-skiers activities too.

Veronika

Hi, I'm Veronika, a travel creator based in Munich, who has spent the past 5 years travelling the Italian Alps, in winter on skis, in summer on feet with a backpack.

I write about what resorts are actually worth it, what things really cost, and what nobody tells you before your first trip. I had no press trips and don't provide sponsored opinions. Just deep local knowledge from someone who loves it here, respects it, and keeps coming back almost every week.
