Theodore Van Rysselberghe (born November 23, 1862 Ghent, died December 13, 1926, Saint Clare, France) is a Belgian painter, a pointillist.

Theo van Rysselberghe was the younger brother of the architect Octave van Rysselberghe. The future artist studied with James Ensor at the Brussels Academy of Arts. Early works of T. van Rysselberghe, exhibited in the Brussels Salon in 1881, indicate the influence of Edward Manet and Edgar Degas.

In 1882, the artist makes a long journey through Spain and Morocco, where he writes exotic canvases. In 1883 he was one of the founders of the group of XX, which united avant-garde artists; participates in the development of artistic ties between France and Belgium. During one of his trips to Paris, van Rysselberghe met with Georges Sere and his pointillist technique of painting, which had a huge influence on the work of the Belgian. Van Rysselberghe wrote as a pointillist from 1890 to 1910. In 1897 he moved to Paris. Only after the death of his teacher and friend J. Sere, he gradually departs from pointillism. In 1910, 
the artist moved to the Mediterranean coast of France and in recent years wrote mostly female nude paintings.
