GCSE Greek Higher Tier Preparing for success Year Plus

This course has been designed for students who would like to sit their GCSE exams in Modern Greek and it is an additional part with extra material of the online courses ‘GCSE Greek Higher Tier Preparing for success Year 1’ and ‘GCSE Greek Higher Tier Preparing for success Year 2’. It is primarily for students who have chosen the Higher Tier but students who are considering the Foundation Tier may find the material useful but challenging for their level in Greek.

The material is based on the Specification 2017 and each lesson covers Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary and Grammar. There are a lot of activities that relate to the style and the specific types of questions students are expected to see in the official exams.

Aim: To perfect students’ abilities in succeeding in their GCSE in Modern Greek.

Objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• expand your vocabulary using some advanced words and phrases and revise previously learned vocabulary  

• practice your speaking skills in part a (role play game) and part b (picture based task) of the exams

• practice your listening skills focusing on listening for detail and how to form your answers concisely 

• practice your reading skills and how you can tackle even the longest texts with challenging questions 

• practice your writing skills and check your progress with model answers

• practice your translation skills
