GCSE Greek Higher Tier Preparing for success Year 1

This course has been designed for students who would like to sit their GCSE exams in Modern Greek. It is primarily for students who have chosen the Higher Tier but students who are considering the Foundation Tier may find the material useful but challenging for their level in Greek.

The material is based on the Specification 2017 and each lesson covers Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary and Grammar. There are a lot of activities that relate to the style and the specific types of questions students are expected to see in the official exams.

Aim: To build confidence and develop students’ communication skills to succeed in their GCSE in Modern Greek.

Objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

·      expand your vocabulary using some advanced words and phrases, including the prescribed vocabulary with Quizlet flashcards

·      practice your speaking skills in describing a picture and hold a conversation about the topic that relates with this picture

·      practice your listening skills, both listening for gist and listening for detail

·      practice your reading skills and reducing your reading time with techniques

·      practice your writing skills and check your progress with model answers
