Medication Management Framework for Foster Carers - Wales

Developed by a foster carer and national professional in Health and Social Care, and tested by current carers within the Foster Wales network; this framework gives you a clear, practical system for managing and recording medication for children in your care. It is fully aligned with Welsh legislation and Foster Wales guidance.

This pack includes two frameworks:

Ages 0–15 — covering standard medication management requirements

Ages 16–17 — covering consent, developing independence, and the additional considerations for older young people

Currently in use in the Vale of Glamorgan. Developed through real fostering practice to Version 6.
