SKILL LEVEL

Confident Advanced Beginner - Crocheters looking to follow this pattern should know how to:

• Read a crochet pattern - There is NOT a video tutorial for this Christmas Stocking crochet pattern.
• Work the basic stitches - Chain, slip stitch, single crochet and half double crochet
• Work in closed rounds (some rounds are turned, some are not turned)
• Work in the Back Loop Only, Front Loop Only and 3rd Loop Only (of half double crochet)
• Join yarn and change color
• Identify stitches or be willing to use stitch markers
• Make a length of chains mid-round to shape the opening of the heel.

This is NOT an absolute beginner pattern! Absolute Beginners will find this pattern outside of their skill level.

Advanced Beginners who are confident in their skills or are willing to learn new skills should have no issues with this pattern. Additionally, the step by step photo tutorials through the pattern as well as for all special stitches and techniques will guide you through.

If you prefer a bigger stocking, use a heavier weight of yarn instead of trying to change the size by stitches. Any fiber will work well for this stocking.

YARN REQUIRED

Medium (4) Cotton Yarn (or cotton blend) in 2 colors. You will need approximately a total of:

Color A (total): 40g / 1.4 oz / 76 yds

Color B (total): 60 g / 2.10 oz / 114 yds

Yarn used per part:

Toe (Color A): 10 g / 0.35 oz / 19 yds

Heel (Color A): 10 g / 0.35 oz / 19 yds

Cuff (Color A): 20 g / 0.70 oz / 38 yds

Body of Stocking (Color B): 60g / 2.10 oz / 114 yds

If you prefer a bigger stocking, use a heavier weight of yarn instead of trying to change the size by stitches. Any fiber will work well for this stocking. If you change yarn weight or fiber, your yarn usage will be different than listed.

Yarn Used: We Crochet’s Dishie in colorways Swan (white - Color A), Inlet (blue - Color B) and Linen (cream - Color B). This yarn is 100% Cotton, 190 yds / 100 g per skein.

• 4 mm (G-6) hook
