- Supporting material for the fifth episode in the Harp Ornamentation YouTube video series (released 10th June 2022). The videos are free to watch and you can help support Karen in this work by downloading the handout for £5, or more if you are able and would like to give more.
- This one and a half hour workshop teaches a basic tune, initially looking at the phrases, then at ways of ornamentating the tune, and finally at bass hand ideas. This is done on both a gut-strung and a wire-strung harp.
- Techniques used include, cuts, turns, bee's plaits, little finger plaits, beats, harmonics, downward chords and gurglies.
- Full arrangements (3 times through the tune with increasingly involved arrangments) for both gut and wire-strung harps.
- Tune - Oran nan Spleadh 's na Fìrinn (The Song of Truths and Hyperboles) from the Angus Fraser Collection.
