Digital Reading a Pay Stub: Self-Checking PowerPoint for Life Skills, Ages 14 to 21
The first paycheck is usually the first time students see their money get smaller before it reaches them. How do you give them practice finding gross pay, deductions, and net pay before that happens? This digital activity is a self checking PowerPoint where students read two realistic pay stubs, answer 16 questions, and check each answer themselves before they move on.
• 16 questions: 14 drag a star multiple choice and 2 type the amount questions
• Two made up pay stubs: one hourly job, and one with overtime and a dental insurance deduction. The stub stays on screen next to every question.
• A CHECK IT flap on every question. Students drag it off to see the answer, the reason, and a tip for where to look.
• A Words to Know slide, a My Score slide, and a Check Your Work slide with all 16 answers
• A teacher guide PDF with pacing, accommodations, and an answer key with the math shown
