doctor Vet

This is a collection of short stories abouy my years as a large animal  vetinarian. In those years this was a male dominated profession. It was difficult to get into the course, to be treated well while there, to get a job and then be accepted by your clients (all farmers). I loved each of those battles, first so that in later years, I`d be an example for my children and second because I believed my XX chromosomes made me better with the animals not less able. (so there).

There are many chapters that share some of the wonderful and different experiences my young daughters had while on not only our farm, but my clients farms as well. There are a few pictures through out the book which I think you may enjoy.

I began this book only to have something to pass on to my grandbabies so that I could share tales of their moms and grandmom. Then, as the chapters added up, my friend Ruby, who was proof reading them  for me, suggested that I make it into a book, which eventually I did.

You may have noticed on the cover, that the writer`s name is shown as Dr. Brenda Meyers, which was my professional and married name at the time. That`s the name my clients know me as.
