This book has been crafted to provide you with a variety of meal ideas tailored for individuals dealing with PCOS.
In 2013, I faced a challenging journey with PCOS, and astonishingly, none of the medical professionals I consulted enlightened me about PCOS itself, my fluctuating hormones, or how to manage my diet effectively. It was disheartening to witness that many of the foods I consumed were causing digestive distress and unwanted weight gain.
I understand that it may require some dedicated time to prepare these meals. However, if you designate a Sunday afternoon to cook and plan your meals for the upcoming week, it can become an enjoyable ritual. You can even sneak in a taste test as you cook—I certainly do!
Within these pages, you'll discover a selection of my preferred snacks that not only tantalize the taste buds but also won't disrupt your insulin levels (which, incidentally, plays a role in fat storage—something we want to manage!).
I've included straightforward recipes to transform these daily snacks into healthier options, ones that will leave you feeling satisfied and hopefully sporting a smile. Just because we're dealing with PCOS doesn't mean we're condemned to a life of bland, tasteless food!
It's crucial to note that the focus here is on the concept of "food as medicine." Let's set aside dietary labels like vegan, vegetarian, paleo, and others—food is simply food!
