Do Not Accept Delays
Testimony
She could not even sit up in the hospital bed. Then she put her feet on the ground — and strength entered her.
"After I had my son by caesarean section, I became very sick. I could not move. On the second morning I kept hearing a scripture in my spirit, over and over again: "Rise up, pick up your mat, and walk."
At first I could not even sit up. So I asked my friend to help me. I managed to sit up in the bed, and then I put my feet on the ground. That was it. The moment my feet touched the ground, strength entered me. The sickness that had kept me bound broke instantly. Within one hour, the nurses moved me out of critical care, and by the next day I was discharged with my baby.
The strength was not in the bed. It came in the standing."
God has already spoken over your life. So why are you still sitting down?
There is a waiting that God appoints, and there is a lingering that we choose — and we have become very skilled at dressing the second one in the clothes of the first. We call it praying about it. We call it waiting for confirmation. We announce a fast. And the years go by.
When God brought Israel to the edge of everything He had promised them, He did not rebuke them for sin. He rebuked them for camping: "You have stayed long enough at this mountain" (Deuteronomy 1:6). The journey ahead of them took eleven days. It took that generation forty years.
In "DO NOT ACCEPT DELAYS," Bishop Veronica Anusionwu takes the word God gave her — "When I give you a promise, do not accept delay" — and walks you past a row of witnesses who faced the same fork in the road that you are standing at today:
Abraham, who left home and then settled halfway at Haran. Moses, who argued with a burning bush because of his own weakness. Gideon, called a mighty warrior while he was still hiding. A man who lay on a mat for thirty-eight years beside the water he was waiting for. Four lepers who decided that dying on their feet was better than dying sitting down — and whose shuffling footsteps God turned into the sound of a great army. And a servant who buried what he had been given, because he was afraid and never asked anybody for help.
You will also find the teaching that runs underneath it all: you can fast and pray and move at the same time. Prayer was never given to us as an alternative to obedience. And you will meet fear for what it really is — what Bishop Veronica’s mother called "the devil’s policeman, the devil’s arresting agent." It does not come to kill you. It comes to stop you.
Every chapter carries Scripture quoted in full, declarations with chapter and verse, a closing prayer, and a true testimony from more than three decades of ministry — including the salt that cleared the pipes before the engineer arrived, the family who travelled through the night for a boy whose hand was paralysed, and the woman in South Sudan who conceived after twenty-five years of waiting through a book Bishop Veronica never knew had reached her.
The book closes with FORTY DAYS OF MOVING WITH THE WORD — one verse, one word, one step and one declaration for each day, so that you cannot finish this book still sitting down.
Bishop Veronica Anusionwu is the founder and leader of The Lord’s Word on Healing Ministries (LWH Healing Centre), through which more than 1,000 miracle babies have been testified to, alongside testimonies of healing and restoration from around the world.
The water does not need to stir. The giants do not need to leave the land. God is waiting on your feet. Get up. Pick up your mat. And walk.
