Friendship Skills Task Boxes Bundle: 4 Boxes, Levels A, B, C, High School

This friendship skills bundle gives teens and young adults four leveled task boxes for friendship outside of work: texting friends, making plans, disagreeing kindly, and saying no.

Why I made this: Nobody in my class needs convincing that friends matter. They need the words for the moments that trip them up: a text that just says "ok," a plan that never happens, a fight over a movie, a friend who will not take no. I built these four boxes so each moment gets calm, leveled practice with peers, never bosses or coworkers.

What’s included: Four 21 page task boxes, each a PDF with a Word copy:

In all: 84 pages and 240 cards. Each box has a teacher page with a 2 week plan, 12 Level A, 24 Level B, and 24 Level C cards, a mat and a reference page, 3 practice pages, an answer key with twists marked, a data sheet with a 10 session graph, a try it for real page with a 5 item adult check, and blank cards. Every box includes a note that it is fine to have few friends.

How to use it: Teach one box every two weeks, in any order, or start with the one your students need most. Students work one level at a time with self check codes, then try the skill for real.

Who it’s for: High school special education teachers, 18 to 21 program teachers, school counselors, and families of teens and young adults. It also works for grades 6 to 8.

Format: 4 PDFs, US Letter, 21 pages each (84 pages in all), each with an editable Word copy. Levels use a word plus a shape, so they print in black and white.

The Job Skills Communication scripts cover texting a boss, and the Repair Conversation Cards cover adult repair talks. These four boxes are about friends only.
