About The Finished Object:
The Afterthought sock was designed as an easy vanilla sock patttern. Knit a tube mind- lessly, using your favorite knitting method, then add a toe and place the heel wherev- er you like! This is perfect for gift-knitting socks, you only need to know someones shoe size!
Yarn:
Use any sock weight yarn you like: Finger- ing weight, wool-blends work best. Look for something with a nylon or silk blended in. 80g or more sock yarn for the tube
20g or more of a fun contrasting color for the toe, heel, and cuff.
Tools/Needles:
US size 1.5 or 2 (2.5mm or 2.25mm) needles. Magic loop, DPNs, or 9” circulars. *Note: if you use 9” circulars you will either need magic loop or DPNs for the toe and heel.
2 removable stitch markers.
1 fixed stitchmarker for BOR.

Scrap yarn for holding stitches (2-3g).
Gauge:
Your tube should have a gague of 17 sts per 2”. Row gague is unimportant.
