Always allow extra yarn

Notions
Waste yarn, stitch markers. You may find it useful to hold sts on spare cables with end stoppers, but waste yarn or stitch holders are options.

A single button or fastener of your choice for the neck slit

Construction and techniques
Bottom up and seamless in the round. At the neck shaping the yoke is worked back and forth to create an extra opening to be buttoned up. My sample has a very simple crochet loop button hole and crochet edge to the neck slit (link to tutorial provided), but this is optional and you can create a knitted or other button hole/fastening arrangement if you prefer.

Skills:
knit & purl (in the round)
increasing and decreasing
small amount of grafting for underarms (instructions and links to tutorials provided).
